是天何不公，轮到总理却偏偏无后，这怎么能不使人遗憾呢?是残酷的地下斗争和战争夺去邓颖超同志腹中的婴儿，以后又摧残了她的健康。但是以总理之权、之位、之才和倾倒多少女性的风采，何愁不能再建家室，传宗接代呢?这在解放初党的中高级干部中不乏其人，并几乎成风。但总理没有。他以倾国之权而坚守平民之德。后来有一个厚脸皮的女人写过一本书，称她自己就是总理的私生女，这当然经不起档案资料的核验。举国一阵哗然之后，如风吹黄叶落，复又秋阳红。但人们在愤怒之余心里仍然隐隐存着一丝的惆怅。特别是眼见和总理同代人的子女，或又子女的子女，不少都官居高位名显于世，不禁又要黯然神伤。中国人的传统文化是求全求美的，如总理这样的伟人该是英雄美人、父英子雄、家运绵长的啊。
然而，这一切都没有。这怎么能不在国人心中凿下一个空洞呢?人们的习惯思维如列车疾驶，负着浓浓的希望，却一下子冲出轨道，跌入了一个无底的深渊。
总理的三无是官而不显。
千百年来，官和权是连在一起的。官就是显赫的地位，就是特殊的享受，就是人上人，就是福中福，官和民成了一个对立的概念，也有了一种对立的形象。但周恩来作为一国总理则只求不显。
